Conecuh VINELink Coverage
Alabama has two related channels: VINELink Alabama and the Alabama Victim Notification System. VINELink is the public custody-status and notification portal. Alabama VNS states a narrower scope: it is for offenders convicted in Alabama and sentenced to prison. It also directs people with cases not yet tried to contact the county sheriff.
That state-prison limitation is central for Conecuh County. A pretrial or local jail release may not appear in VNS. If the person never entered ADOC coverage, use the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office, court docket, and any participating VINE result together.

VINELink works best as a one-person check. Use the most precise identifiers available and avoid assuming that similar names are the same person.

What VINELink Shows
A VINE result can show current status or trigger notification options, but the exact fields depend on the participating agency and custody type. Treat it as a notification record, not a full court file.

Register Conecuh Release Notifications
After opening the correct person, choose the notification or get-notified option if the record offers one. Add the contact method the system allows, such as phone, email, or text. Follow prompts to confirm the method, and create or enter a PIN if the phone workflow requires it. The PIN lets the system know the notification was received or should stop.
Alabama's VNS site says a new VNS website was released in March 2024 and users registered in a prior version need to register again. Anyone relying on an old alert should confirm the registration exists in the current system.
VNS State Prison Limits
The Alabama VNS limitation is a distinct Conecuh issue because local jail records may not be online. VNS is useful for Alabama-convicted prisoners sentenced to prison. It is not the primary source for a person whose case has not yet gone to trial. For an untried Conecuh County jail matter, the VNS site itself points back to the county sheriff.
For a sentenced state prisoner, use VNS/VINELink with ADOC and ABPP. For a local jail release, use VINE only as an alert layer and verify through the sheriff or court.
Confirm Conecuh Releases After Alerts
VINE alerts can be delayed or limited by agency participation. Federal prisoners are not covered by VINELink in the same way; use BOP for federal release records. ICE custody is separate and should be checked through ODLS and ERO routing where appropriate. A person can leave Conecuh County jail and still be in another custody system.
